About Allestree Alliance

There's no place like home and no better place to live, work, base a business, or visit than Allestree, the northernmost suburb of Derby in the beautiful county of Derbyshire.

With over 14,000 residents, 60 businesses, eight churches, six pubs/bars, and three schools, Allestree's community already had a real spark, and all it needed was for someone to create an organisation that could capture that spark and set it alight... That's us.

Originally the result of a quick drink, erm... I mean 'meeting' between Cllr. Steve Hassall and Kieran Morgan-McGeehan in the Red Cow Pub late in 2021, Allestree Alliance was founded as a Community Interest Company (CIC) after a few rounds of planning by local resident and speed watch coordinator Brian Henderson, Allestree Councillor Cllr. Ged Potter, local resident and organiser of Allestree Scarecrow Festival, Cllr. Kieran Morgan-McGeehan, and Allestree Councillor Cllr. Steve Hassall in 2022 to coincide with, and celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and establish a lifetime of value and enjoyment for the people of Allestree, Allestree's broader community, and Allestree's business network.

Since then, we're proud to have organised a number of community events and helped the community to host a number of events themselves, and today our annual events are bigger and more popular then ever. See our what's on page for more.

None of our directors receives any income from Allestree Alliance, but every penny raised by sales, stall fees, grants and donations is either spent for the good of Allestree, or is donated to our selected charities.

The purposes of Allestree Alliance are:

  • to unite the businesses and community groups of Allestree;
  • to become the unified voice of the community and ‘go to’ place for information about Allestree and community events in Allestree; and
  • to plan and host various community events throughout the year that will bring the community together, promote Allestree’s businesses/community groups, and raise Allestree’s profile in the wider community

Allestree Alliance cic is a "non-profit" company, so we guarantee that all funds raised either goes back into the Allestree community or is donated to charity.

Meet the Board of Directors
