What's on?

The event will take place on Sunday 28th August 2022 from 12:00pm until 4:00 pm

The Competition

You can enter online or on the day.  Head over to the Allestree Alliance gazebo to get your programmes and enter.

You can enter as many categories as you want.

It costs £2.00 for the first category, and then an extra £1.00 for each additional category.

Here are the categories:

• Best Boy - for male dogs.

• Greatest Girl - for female dogs.

• Cutest Puppy - for puppies under 1 year old.

• Best Golden Oldie - for dogs over 7 years old.

• Best Behaved - for well behaved dogs.

• Best Pure Bred - for pure bred dogs.

• Best Cross Bred - for cross bred dogs.

• Best Rescue - for rescue dogs.

• Fancy Dress - for fancy dressed dogs and/or owners.

• Best Trick - for all dogs that know a good trick.

• Happiest Family Pet - for all dogs with little humans holding the lead.

• Waggiest Tail - for all dags with waggy tails.

• Looks most like their human - for dogs that look like their humans.

• Judge's Favourite - free to enter for all dogs that have entered any other category.

• Best in Show - free to enter for the winners and runners up of every other category.

Every dog that enters any of the categories can also enter the judge's favourite competition, and the top 2 from each category will earn a place to compete in the 'best in show' category.

Winners and runners up will be awarded a certificate and rosette at the end of each category.

Allestree Recreation Ground

You can expect lots to see and do on show day, including:

• Show arena - This is where the contest will take place.
• Dog agility course.
• Registration gazebo - This is us, come say hello. This is also where the first aid (and doggy first aid) is.

And you will find some great stalls there too, including;

• Doggy Day Care, Burton - Tombola with information about Doggy Day Care, Burton and maybe some treats for sale.
• Ruby's Dog Bakery - Homemade natural dog biscuits and cakes.
• Estelle Sheldon - Hand knitted dog jumpers and Accessories
• Laura's Cake Box - Cupcakes, muffins, slices, cookies and whole cakes. Some with a dog theme!

When is Allestree Dog Show?

Get your programmes with categories and times at the Allestree Alliance gazebo at Allestree Recreation Ground.

How much does it cost?

There's no charge to attend.

Programmes will be available for a donation.

To enter the competition categories there's a £2.00 charge for the first category and an extra £1.00 for each additional category.

What's on at Allestree Recreation Ground on the day?

There's plenty to see, do, buy, eat and enjoy.

On the same day, Allestree Cricket club are having their President's Day.

Where can I Park?

You can park at Allestree Recreation Ground, but spaces are limited.

Will there be any toilets?

There are facilities at the Red Cow Pub on St Edmunds Close.

Will there be refreshments?

There will be some refreshments available to buy, and there are other places to eat and drink around Allestree.

How do I find the dog show?

The address is: Allestree Recreation Ground, 1 Robincroft, Allestree. DE22 2FQ

Allestree is part of the city of Derby in Derbyshire.
It is situated on the A6 road, about 2 miles (3 km) north of Derby City Centre and just off the A38. 

It is bordered by the district of Amber Valley along its western and northern edges and Erewash in its north-east corner. 

To the south it borders the ward of Mackworth and to the east the ward of Darley Abbey.
